Greetings and a very warm welcome to our esteemed guests!
I am Chef Lalit Tamang, founder and Chef of The Noodle House, Kalimpong and now Gangtok. We have been serving Pan Asian food in Kalimpong since 2020 and are thrilled to bring ourselves to Vajra World in Gangtok.
In my career spanning 18 years, I have had the privilege of training and working with one of the largest & renownedinternational chain of hotels like The Marriott International, Accor Group, Radisson Hotels, where I began as a “CommisChef” and reached the level of a “Sous Chef”, having worked around all the metropolitans in the country. Growth in hospitality industry is synonymous with a lot of hardwork, dedication, passion, sacrifice, attention to detail and pursuit of excellence. I remain grateful for the opportunities of getting to work and learn with few of the finest Chefs in the industry, from whom I gained invaluable knowledge and skill set.
The uncertainty brought during our time by COVID, led me to begin my own startup with our own brand in my hometown, a small venture – a cozy restaurant with 26 covers, run by a team of 3 - my wife Srijana Thapa Tamang, one employee and I.
We try to serve soulful, fresh and healthy food and always follow a simple and effective rule of thumb in our work which is genuine love for cooking, respect for the ingredients, care for the equipment and utensils, cook with passion and fire in the belly that should never recede. Only then can the food create a lasting taste and memory, much after it has been relished!
