Ms. Trupti Mhatre holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Having joined the Exim Bank in 2003, she has gained the experience of managing various key functions of the Bank, including Project finance, Trade finance, Buyer’s Credit, Lines of Credit, Refinance, Credit Lines to Overseas Banks/DFIs, Treasury & Accounts, Loan Operations and Resource Raising.
Currently, Ms. Mhatre is heading the Bank’s Trade Facilitation group and is handling the recent initiative ‘Trade Assistance Programme’ that focuses on supporting India’s trade with relatively untapped geographies with higher risk perceptions. Prior to this, she was handling the Bank’s resource raising activities in domestic and international markets, by way of bond issuances, bilateral loans, and private placements. She was involved in setting up of the Bank’s ESG framework and was instrumental in issuance of the Bank’s first Sustainability Bond in January 2023. She has been maintaining key banking relationships with Indian and foreign banks, as also with multilateral funding agencies, under the Credit Lines and Refinance portfolios.
During her stint in the Lines of Credit group, Ms. Mhatre effectively managed the relationships with overseas sovereign borrowers. She has also managed the Bank’s balance sheet and loan operations, as part of her role in the Accounts and Treasury group
